Patriotic Program and Block Party

On Wednesday night, June 28th, our Adult Choir led us in a wonderful program of celebrating our freedom as Americans. We were reminded again of the blessing of God on this country. Through songs of our nation and songs of our faith, we were challenged to remember the people and our God who makes this nation strong. Following the program, we continued to celebrate with a block party outside. We enjoyed a great evening of food, fellowship, and entertainment.

Vacation Bible School

We had a great week of Vacation Bible School during the first week of June. We had 185 people enrolled in the week of learning what it means to be strong, to be courageous, and to follow Jesus. During the week, the children participated in a contest of girls vs. boys to see who could bring the most money for missions. At the end of th week, the children had brought over $1,300 for missions. The pictures below will give a small glimpse of what the week was like.

Palm Sunday

Elaina Widen, Anna Morris, Julia Kent, and Beau Simpson

Sunday was a great day in the life of our congregation. Our worship service began with 6 baptisms. It is always a blessing to see people make commitments to Christ and follow in baptism.

We were then led in worship by our Senior Adult Choir. The choir did an great job of presenting a musical about the last week of the life of Christ. In the musical, the singing was accompanied by dramatic readings from several of our youth. Philip Herron, Alyssa Davis, and Kelley Jones allowed us to understand what many of the people close to Jesus would have been thinking during the week that he would die.

Bro. Lyle concluded the service with a sermon about the people who would have been in the crowd on Palm Sunday and what they would have left behind.

It was truly a great day to be in the house of the Lord.

Enjoy the pictures below of some of those who were baptized.

Community Lunch

This past weekend, several of our church members participated in our community lunch. Each month we fix soup and sandwiches to deliver the people in our church and community. This month we delivered almost 200 meals. We want to thank all of you who help to make this ministry possible.
